New group targets reuse and open standards
08/02/2010
The new community “Adoption and Reuse of Semantic Resources and Open Standards” is planning a meeting in spring.
The community statement signed by the acting community chair, Joris Gresnigt, states that it is the new group’s goal to bring together existing initiatives in EU and EEA member states and candidate countries to support the exchange of approaches and solutions in specific domains as well as in cross-domain data exchange.
Other key objectives of the network are
reuse of proven interoperability assets
adoption of open standards to their national level requirements
exchange of good practices and common solutions
identification of common models and methods
Member State involvement in standardisation bodies
strategies for adoption
The work of the community will be conducted publicly. SEMIC.EU will publish work results and updates on exchange and strategies on a regular basis. During a spring meeting in Norway, community members will discuss concrete measures and next steps.
The community welcomes new members who want to learn from others and can also share experiences in standards adoption, especially in the context of national adaptation to European standards.
